Calling all virtual sportsmen! Tell your kids to scoot over and hand you a game controller. Now you can enjoy hunting all year round and come face-to-face with prey right in the comfort of your living room.
With the expertise of Activision Inc., a worldwide developer, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment, and authentic gear from Cabela's, a renowned hunting outfitter, "Cabela's Deer Hunt 2005 Season" is taking the hunt to an all-new level of realism on the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.
The game features 18 action-packed missions that include challenges of both skill and strategy, a variety of deer species - from whitetail to fallow - as well as a vast array of Cabela's gear to assist you in your hunt.
The game also captures the essence of the wilderness by using advanced graphics to recreate the great outdoors, from glistening waters, running streams and moving grass to swaying trees and ambient wildlife.
Experience some of North America's most diverse and popular deer hunting locales, including British Columbia, Colorado, Montana, Nebraska and more. Players must learn the hunting regulations of each region before tracking their trophy. Once the goals of each region are accomplished, you can earn the right to hunt for exotic species of deer, including fallow, sika, axis and coues, on private property ranches where there are fewer restrictions.
The two modes of game play are Quick Hunt and Career Hunt. In Quick Hunt mode, players get tracking and shooting practice without having to worry about the time or money elements. For a full hunting experience, there's Career Hunt. In this mode, players progress through various regions, unlock missions, have shooting challenges and accumulate trophies.
If you want to take time out from deer hunting, you can test your skills in a variety of clay shooting mini-games that include trap, skeet and sporting clay options.
"Cabela's Deer Hunt 2005 Season" has raised the bar for the sports/hunting genre. While offering new features and retaining the best aspects from the 2004 version, this title is sure to keep hunting fans on their toes.
